STAFFORD LOANS

1. Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan
Subsidized Stafford loans are awarded on the basis of financial need. The federal government pays your loan interest while you are in school or during your grace period. Student must participate in an entrance loan counseling exam prior to receiving loans.

2. Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
Unsubsidized Stafford loans are awarded on the basis of financial need. The federal government does not pay the interest. You are responsible for all the interest that must be paid or allowed to accrue capitalized. If your interest is capitalized, your repayment amount will increase.

PLUS LOANS LOANS FOR PARENTS

PLUS loans are not awarded on the basis of financial need. Parents of dependent undergraduate students with qualified credit histories may apply for the PLUS loan. The awarded loan amount cannot exceed cost of student attendance minus other financial aid. Repayment starts within 60 days after the loan is fully disbursed.
